However, being a lefty, i have few buying options. I'd like to get the 339 because it's easier to handle, but I'm still wondering if there's a discernable difference between the two of. The 339 kept cutting out and had a dead bridge pickup so I couldn't tell how much difference there was in tone between the two. ![]() This '73 EA-250 Riviera is full hollow body and a fun guitar to play, played her live with my group last week, still smiling. Ive really fell for the look of the Gibson ES335 / Epiphone Casino style and the sound of such guitars would suit my playing. The 335 sounded great, but it was a scratch and dent with a faulty pickup selector. She's solid, stout, super tone, easy to play. 52/.42/.36/.30w/.18/.18 strings on her and play it almost exclusively open G or open D for slide guitar. Picked her up in 2019 at Music Go Round for $279. I've had tons of guitars, this 335 is one of an all-time/lifetime favorites. Never a thought of ever unloading her (like I have with a number of new buys). My buddy calls me a "horse trader" because I buy/sell/repair/build guitars all the time.įrom my first day with this '99 MIK 335 DOT, I've never been happier with her.
